Community
Most Americans share a common image of rural life—open countrysides, main street, locally-owned businesses and friendly neighbors willing to lend a hand. With a population of just under 900, Greenleaf, Idaho is just this kind of place. Greenleaf’s motto is "Prepare to Care." And from the Mayor’s office, to the business community, to the private homes, this family-friendly community truly takes the motto to heart.
Founded in the early 1900’s by Quaker settlers, the City of Greenleaf is still best known for The Greenleaf Friends Academy, a private school begun in 1908. The academy has grown over the past century from a one-room schoolhouse into a beautiful, modern facility and it is now known throughout the Northwest for its academic excellence, outstanding music and athletic programs. The academy is a private Christian-based school which now represents as many as 50 religions.
